What does cabrón mean?

ExpressionGrosero

bastard — or “you lucky sod”, depending entirely on who is speaking

The most context-dependent word in the scene. It can be a hard insult — ese cabrón me ha engañado — and it can be admiration or clean envy: ¡Qué cabrón! ¡Has conseguido entradas! In that second sense it is nearer to qué máquina than to “bad person”, and it stays vulgar in both.

¡Qué cabrón! ¡Has conseguido entradas para el concierto!
Admiration, not an accusation. Nobody here thinks anybody is a bad person.

In the app, expressions are taught inside real conversations from Spain: read cold, explained line by line, then read again. It’s the Spanish textbooks leave out.
